There are vacancies on the following Boards and Commissions which will be appointed by the Union County Council:
Four (4) vacancies on the Airport Commission
Four (4) vacancies on the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission
Five (5) vacancies on the Appeals Board
Four (4) vacancies on the Fair Board
Four (4) vacancies on the Library Board
Four (4) vacancies on the Stadium Commission
Four (4) vacancies on the Tourism Commission
Two (2) One (1) regular member and one (1) alternate member on the Building
Code Board of Appeals for applicant qualified by experience or training
to pass on matters related to building construction
Applicants should be aware that they will be required to attend seventy five percent of all meetings during the calendar year to remain an active member. Any persons interested in serving on one of these boards or commissions must fill out a questionnaire which can be picked up in the Union County Supervisor’s Office or is available on the County’s website at countyofunion.org. The questionnaire needs to be completed and turned in to the Clerk to Council at the Union County Supervisor’s Office, 210 W. Main Street, Union, S. C. 29379. Applications will be taken until all vacancies are filled.

There are vacancies on the following Boards of Fire Control for the following volunteer fire districts created by the Union County Council which will be appointed by the Union County Council:
Four (4) vacancies on the Board for Bonham Fire District
Three (3) vacancies on the Board for Buffalo Fire District
Three (3) vacancies on the Board for Carlisle Fire District
Four (4) vacancies on the Board for Cross Keys Fire District
Three (3) vacancies on the Board for Kelly-Kelton Fire District
Three (3) vacancies on the Board for Philippi Fire District
Applicants must reside within the boundaries of the fire district for which they are applying.
