As of January 11th 2021, access to Union County Courthouse is now limited to the public  by appointment only. This will be in effect  until further notice.  This change is necessary for the safety of the public and staff due to increasing cases of  COVID-19.

Please make an appointment, mail in payments or drop in the night deposit box.

The Union County Council will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in the Meeting Room at 103 West Main Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Limited public seating will be available on a first come basis. The meeting will be streamed live on the Frank Hart Union County Supervisor Facebook page.

The Union County Council will hold a Budget Workshop for fiscal year 2021-2022 on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at 103 West Main Street. The meeting will be open to the public with limited seating available on a first come basis.

There are four (4) vacancies on the Planning Commission which will be appointed by the Union County Council. Applicants should be aware that they will be required to attend seventy five percent of all meetings during the calendar year to remain an active member. Any persons interested in serving on the Planning Commission must fill out a questionnaire which can be picked up in the Union County Supervisor’s Office or is available on the County’s website at countyofunion.org. The questionnaire needs to be completed and turned in to the Clerk to Council at the Union County Supervisor’s Office, 210 W. Main Street, Union, S. C. 29379. Applications will be taken until all vacancies are filled.

There are three (3) positions on the Union County Development Board which will be appointed by the Union County Council.  Two (2) positions will be for applicants from financial institutions or other professional occupations that impact industry recruitment/retention, and one (1) position will be for applicants from the local healthcare system.  County Council requires members to attend seventy-five percent of the meetings each calendar year to remain on the Board.  Interested candidates must submit a Union County Development Board specific questionnaire/application along with a resume to the Clerk to Council at the Union County Supervisor’s Office, 210 W. Main Street, Union, S. C. 29379 by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  The questionnaire/application form is available at the Union County Supervisor’s Office at the Union County Courthouse, at the Union County Development Board Office and on the County website at countyofunion.org.

There is currently one (1) vacancy on the Board for the Buffalo Fire District which will be appointed by the Union County Council. Applicants must reside within the boundaries of the fire district for which they are applying.  Any persons interested in serving on this board must fill out a questionnaire which can be picked up in the Union County Supervisor’s Office or is available on the County’s website at countyofunion.org.   The questionnaire needs to be completed and turned in to the Clerk to Council at the Union County Supervisor’s Office, 210 W. Main Street, Union, S. C. 29379.  Applications will be taken until the vacancy has been filled.
