The Union County Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Union County Annex Building to discuss upcoming vacancies on the Development Board, discuss staffing at the County Jail, discuss development proposals for the From Building, consider second reading of the ordinance to repeal the Road User Fee, discuss STEM Summer Program, discuss the budget for fiscal year 2017-2018 and hold an executive session to discuss personnel. The public is invited to attend and any persons requiring special assistance to attend should contact the Supervisor’s Office 48 hours prior to the meeting.

The Union County Council Committee on Planning and Development will meet on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Union County Annex located at East Main Street to discuss a roof issue at Southside Fire Station, discuss new airbus for fire department, and discuss contracts between outside agencies and EMS. The public is invited to attend.

The Union County Council Committee on Public Works, Roads, and Bridges and County Property will meet on Thursday, May 25, 2017 immediately following the meeting of the Committee on Planning and Development. The meeting will be held in the Conference Room at the Union County Annex located at East Main Street to discuss a request for a speed bump on Poplar Road and a request to abandon Linda Circle. The Union County Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at Carlisle Fire Station in Carlisle, SC to receive comments from the public on the proposed ordinance authorizing the execution and delivery of an Equipment Lease-Purchase Agreement (Carlisle Fire District), 2017, in the amount not exceeding $150,000 between Union County and the lessor thereof to defray the cost of acquiring certain equipment; and other matters relating thereto. The purpose is to purchase a fire truck for the Carlisle Fire District. The public is invited to attend and participate.
