Union County is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Opening in our Code Enforcement Department for a Litter Control Officer. Our PT Litter Control Officer is responsible for taking inmate labor crews out to clean areas of concern throughout the County which can include the sides of main state and county roadways, as well as condemned or blighted properties. Must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid SC Driver’s License and have a clean criminal background due to the nature of the job. This position requires physical labor in the extreme heat, cold, and sometimes inclement weather. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, walk for long periods of time, and navigate rough terrain. Must be able to drive a large passenger van pulling a trailer, as well as various other equipment. Some evening, weekend and holiday work will be required. Position will average no more than 28 hours worked per week.
Deputy Clerk/Administrative Assistant

Union County is currently seeking applicants for the position of Deputy Clerk/Administrative Assistant in the County Treasurer’s Office. The Deputy Clerk is responsible for all operations in the County Treasurer’s Office in the absence of the Treasurer. This is a very detail oriented position and requires exceptional organizational skills, as well as the ability to analyze, prepare and reconcile various reports with extreme accuracy on a local, state and federal level. Must handle all general office duties such as answering of phones, accepting and posting tax payments, making copies and helping the general public as well as attorneys, paralegals, and real estate professionals with various tax and property related tasks. Requires collections and disbursement of all tax payments, fees, fines and assessments from various offices including the Clerk of Court and Magistrate’s Court.
Must collect, reconcile and disburse tax apportionments to the Union County School District and prepare all related reports as well. An applicant with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting is desired, but a combination of education and work related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. The Union County Clerk of Court’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Common Pleas Clerk. Applicants should have clerical and computer skills, be familiar with currency, and have knowledge of office practices and procedures. Must be able to operate all general office equipment, have the ability to compose and prepare accurate reports, records and correspondence. Will attend Common Pleas Court and assist the Clerk of Court as necessary. Must be dependable, responsible and possess the ability to greet the public in a courteous and efficient manner.
